Resources & Recommendations
These are the resources and products I personally use and recommend to support a cleaner and healthier lifestyle. I’ve curated this list to help you reduce toxic exposure in a simple, realistic, and sustainable way.
Produce Shopping
I often refer to resources from the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit that helps break down complex information about toxins in food and everyday products so you can make more informed choices. The Dirty Dozen is a list of fruits and vegetables with the highest levels of pesticide residue. When possible, prioritize buying these organic. The Clean Fifteen is a list of produce items that tend to have lower pesticide levels and are generally safe to buy conventional. This is one of the simplest ways to reduce pesticide exposure—without changing your entire diet.
Personal Care Products Shopping
The Environmental Working Group Skin Deep® Database is a searchable resource that evaluates personal care products based on their ingredients, helping you better understand what you're putting on your skin and identify safer alternatives.
Food Additives
The Environmental Working Group’s Food Score Database helps you make informed choices about what’s in your food and how it’s produced and processed. You can look up a particular food or browse by food category.
I’m sharing this Function Health link because I personally use it to monitor my own health. It’s a cost-effective way to get detailed health markers not typically included in a standard physical every year. At $365 annually, it’s less expensive than my high-deductible health insurance plan’s copay for lab work. You get 100+ labs plus insights and the option to add on additional labs as needed.
